4 Favorite Crochet Blogs for 2023

These are the top 4 crochet blogs that I absolutely love! They give great advice and will help you on your crochet journey!

Mariasbluecrayon.com

This is a great article on Mariasbluecrayon because she talks about yarn color combinations for blankets. The yarn section of most craft stores has so many beautiful colors and styles of yarns to choose from but it can be overwhelming.

In this article, Maria groups 3, 4, and 5 color combinations together with pictures so you can easily see how the colors complement each other. Of course you’re free to make your own color choices depending on your style and you can use this method for any project. It’s not just for blankets.

Maria also shares her favorite worsted weight yarn, crochet tips, free patterns and when you sign up for her newsletter, you get a double sided Crochet Cheat Sheet and free pattern downloads!

ACraftyConcept.com

I love this website because it’s full of planning and organizational content. Ashley is full of energy and ideas. She’s genuine and always encouraging. Ashley sends out a weekly newsletter to her email subscribers sharing lots of free resources, wrap labels and yearly content calendars for makers who want to grow a business selling finished crochet pieces.

I first met Ashley when I signed up for her Crochet Boss Academy course in 2021. This course is great for makers who want to build and grow their crochet buisiness by selling finished pieces. It’s an intense 6 week course that provides one-on-one and group coaching, encouragement, organizational tips and strategies, templates and exclusive member only video tutorials.

Bhookedcrochet.com

This is a wonderful website for beginner, intermediate and advanced crocheters and knitters. Brittany offers an email list specifically for crocheters and a separate email list for knitters. She shares free and paid patterns, video tutorials, podcasts, tips and learning guides.

Brittany shares many resources on her site but one that’s super important is All about Crochet Hook Materials. “Crochet hooks are the most important tool we use”. This article compares the different types of material crochet hooks are made from (aluminum, steel, plastic and wood) and there are pros and cons of each. Brittany also shares her favorite crochet hook which is also my favorite!

tlycblog.com

I love this article – 12 Essential Crochet Tools + Notions on Toni Lipsey’s blog because it provides clear recommendations for yarn, hooks, books and tools & notions (small gadgets that make crocheting easier and fun). Toni shares product recommendations for all these things in a video and written format if you prefer to scroll and read.

Toni has a bubbly and enthusiastic personality and her videos encourage all things ‘crafty’. She shares free and paid crochet patterns, tutorials and videos and is just an overall wonderful human! Her site always brings me joy.

Conclusion

Each of these bloggers , designers and entrepreneurs have inspired, motivated and encouraged me. They support other makers and are open to sharing their ideas and experiences to help others accomplish their goals.
